Privacy without
fine-print confusion.
Read how Wanas handles data in direct, practical language.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to the Wanas app, wanas.space, and the services connected to them. Last updated: August 18, 2026.
This page is the published, authoritative version of our Privacy Policy. The app presents the same information.
Data we handle
We handle only the data needed to provide the features you choose.
- Account data, including your name, email address, authentication method, language, and support preferences.
- Guest data, including an anonymous authentication identifier, message allowance, and temporary conversation history before you create an account.
- Content you create, including conversations, notes, tasks, mood entries, adhkar progress, and activity you choose to save.
- Audio you submit to transcribe a voice note or use a voice feature.
- Limited activity data from Health Connect on Android, only after you choose to connect it and grant permission. We treat this as sensitive health data. Apple Health support is intended for a future iOS release and is not part of the current Google Play app.
- Technical and security data, including device and operating-system information, app-attestation signals, and limited crash reports in release builds.
- Subscription status and product identifiers processed by app stores and managed through RevenueCat.
How we use data
We use data to provide the features you request, save and sync your journey, personalize the tone of support according to your choices, protect the service, prevent abuse, and manage your account and subscription.
We do not sell or rent your personal data.
Service providers
We use specialist providers and share only what is needed for a specific request.
- Google Firebase for authentication, databases, cloud functions, app attestation, and crash reporting.
- Groq to generate chat responses and transcribe voice notes.
- Google Cloud Text-to-Speech to turn a Wanas response into audio.
- RevenueCat with Google Play—and Apple when an iOS release becomes available—to manage subscription status without storing your card details.
AI and voice
Limited parts of your context may be sent to Groq to generate a response or transcribe a voice note. Google Cloud Text-to-Speech may process a Wanas response to produce audio. Live voice conversations may also use on-device speech recognition.
We minimize context to what a request needs. Crisis text is not used to build semantic memory.
Wanas Memory
Long-term personal memory is consent-based. Wanas proposes an item and you can edit or reject it before saving. You can disable or delete any saved memory. Semantic recall, when enabled, is optional and does not index raw conversations, mood entries, or crisis content.
Guest access and retention
You can start as a guest. An anonymous technical identity is used for your allowance and session. The initial allowance is 8 messages, with a one-time option to continue for 8 more. An account is required after that.
If not linked to a permanent account, the guest identity, temporary conversations, and allowance state are deleted 30 days after the last activity. Creating an account links the conversation to the same identity.
Account data is retained while the account remains active. Deletion starts across primary services as soon as an account-deletion request is completed; backups follow the infrastructure provider’s retention cycle.
Health and activity data
Activity sync is entirely optional. On Android it uses Google Health Connect after your explicit permission. You may refuse or withdraw permission later, and the app works only within the permissions you grant.
We use this sensitive data to show steps or activity in the movement area; it is not a medical diagnosis. Apple Health support is planned for a future iOS release and is not available in the current Google Play app.
Analytics and crash reports
Firebase Crashlytics is enabled in release builds to improve stability. Conversation text and notes are not sent as crash-report events.
Firebase Analytics operates only in builds where the release flag is enabled. Events use fixed names and general values and do not contain conversation text, email addresses, or raw user identifiers.
wanas.space does not currently use analytics or tracking tools.
Sharing and compliance
We disclose data only to provide the service through the processors above, comply with a valid legal obligation, or protect users where the law permits.
Your controls and rights
From Settings you can edit your profile, manage memory, export data, delete conversations, or delete your account. You can also use the account-deletion page on this website. We may retain a minimum record where required by law or necessary to prevent fraud.
Age eligibility
Wanas is intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
For a material change, we update this page’s date and provide notice in the app or by email when available. Continued use after notice means you have reviewed the updated version.
Contact
For privacy or account-deletion requests, email support@wanas.space from the address connected to your account. The same inbox also receives support requests. The legal entity name, address, and governing law will be added once formally adopted, without delaying your current rights to access, correct, and delete data.
